Puttur: AMUCT unit of SPC stage protest to fulfill long pending demands

Puttur, 10 Aug 2015: In response to the call given by AIFUCTO, the members of the AMUCT Unit of St Philomena College (SPC) here, wearing stripes, staged protest at the College campus to fulfill the various demands on Friday August 7.
Speaking on the occasion, member of the Unit Professor Dinakara Rao stressed for the immediate fulfillment of the demands:
· Constituting the VII pay commission without any further delay.
· Approving UGC decisions on the 3rd amendments of UGC regulations 2010 and PhD regulations 2009 by the MHRD.
· An immediate meeting of the Minister for HRD and the representatives of AIFUCTO-FEDCUTA to resolve the long pending demands of the teachers.
· Scrapping of API
· Rolling back of choice based credit system and CU bill 2013
· Extending the dates for the completion of R.C and O.C up to December 2015
· Extending UGC pay scales for all the teachers irrespective of the category they belong to.
· A halt to commercialization of higher education
· Rejecting the pension scheme 2004
· Consulting teachers, organization in framing education policies.
Professor Leelavati, the former vice president of AMUCT and former principal of SVS College, Bantwal spoke on the occasion and supported the protest of AMUCT Unit of SPC.
Professor Vishnu Bhat, convener of the AMUCT Unit convened the protest. Professor Maxim Carlo, trustee of AMUCT thanked for staging successful protest.
