Bantwal: Durga Friends, Karenki contribute voluntary service at rural schools

Bantwal, 10 Aug 2015: Sri Durga Friends, Karenki, in Moodunadugodu, near here undertaken cleanliness drive and repairs at Government Higher Primary School, Daddalkadk, near here on Sunday August 9, by voluntary service under cleanliness is our priority programme.
Sri Jagadambika Mandir chief priest Chandappa Poojary offered motion for the voluntary labour hereon Sunday morning.
Over 40 members of Sri Durga Friends cleaned the school premises, repaired the electrical fixtures and borewell, replaced the broken tiles on the roof etc.
The block education officer Sheshashayana Karinja speaking during the valedictory function held on Sunday evening, appreciated the voluntary service of Sri Durga Friends. The school indeed got a new look. It would have taken one month for regular labor, which has been done in a day by pooling the energy of its members. The education department will facilitate adoption of school by Durga Friends, said Sheshashayana.
ZP member Nalini Shetty, journalist Raja Bantwal, local leaders Ramanna Kulal, Roopa Bangera and Poovappa Mendon, school headmaster Maurice D’Souza and teacher Hilda Fernandes were present.
Durga Friends members Loknat Poojary, Prasad Putran, Santosh Gowda, Dharnappa Poojary Shantiguri, Ramachandra Karenki, Yashodar Naik, Naveen Sesaguri, Vittal D Devinagar, Manoj Karenki, Balakrishna Gowda, Ganesh and others were present.
Durga Friends president Prakash Anchan welcomed the gathering and proposed vote of thanks. Purushottam Anchan compered the programme.
Durga Friends has been contributing voluntary labour in the rural school of taluk on first Sunday of every month. It has already contributed their voluntary labour at Nalkemar and Rayi Schools in the past 2 months.
