Bantwal: National Workshop on Digital Library underway at SVS College

Bantwal, 07 Aug 2015: The national workshop on digital library, organized by library department of SVS College, here was inaugurated on Thursday August 6.
Mangalore University registrar Dr Y S Yedipadittaya inaugurated the workshop here on Thursday morning.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Yedipadittaya said that the workshop on digital library is more relevant as the nation is observing Digital India Week. He also said that the librarians ought to incorporate the latest innovations in technology in their tasks.
Dr Yedipadittaya released Dr H R Sujata authored book on e-fisheries science on the same occasion.
SVS College correspondent Koodige Prakash Shenoy in his presidential address urged the librarians to begin digital library in their education institutions from the inputs that they gather at the workshop.
The chief librarian and workshop organizer Dr H R Sujata explained the objectives of workshop and how it would benefit the librarians.
Dr Suresh Jange of Gulbarga University delivered the keynote address.
SVS College principal Dr Panduranga Nayak welcomed the gathering. SVS College past principal Dr Sitaram Mayya was present.
Mumbai – Tata Institute of Social Sciences Dr Mallikarjuna Angady was the key resource person of the workshop.
Nearly 60 librarians from all over the nation are attending the workshop that will conclude on Friday August 7 evening.
