Manchester: KCA - UK organizes annual summer picnic to Brockehole - Lake District

Manchester/UK, 03 Aug 2015: KCA - UK organized its annual summer picnic to Brockehole – Lake District on Saturday August 1. KCA UK had this picnic well planned; a visit was made by KCA UK members prior to the schedule picnic, to help with the arrangements for the picnic. This proposed study and planning done has created a lot of interest for the group to visit this place. 

 

Thirteen families of KCA - UK living in and around of Manchester, Warrington and Sheffield gathered at Fallowfield Manchester on the day of picnic. The picnic began with the journey starting at 8.15am with the prayer followed by Welcome from KCA - UK president Santosh Pinto.

 

 

The families reached the picnic spot area at around 10.15am, a second group consisting 4 more families from Sunderland and Carlisle joined the group at the picnic spot. 

 

Breakfast was served and the weather started favouring the picnic with sunshine, which kept the spirit and the enthusiasm of the picnic ongoing. At this point the whole of KCA - UK had a happy family gathering and placed the marquee in the camping area. This gave a common point to meet. 

 

The Picnic activities started with the ‘tug of war’ for both adult and kids, which brought excitement and entertainment for the families. This was followed by Pinata’ and ‘Dig for the Gold’. Kids thoroughly enjoyed these games and the parents were happy watching their kids. 

 

A delicious lunch was served at around 2.00pm. Martin Saldanha organized the food at the venue.  

 

The afternoon session was comprised throw-ball for women and well known Mangalorean rural games ‘Dog and the Bone’ and ‘Lagori.’

 

Santosh Pinto brilliantly conducted the games. 

 

The winners in each game and the winning team were honoured with prizes. The charming day further continued with the return journey at 6.00pm where everyone continued their singing in the bus, later cracking jokes and conversations. 

 

KCA - UK sincerely extends the thanks to Stany Rodrigues, Ronald Lobo, Joseph Sequiera and Vinod Barboza for their cooperation in arranging this Picnic, and remains grateful for everyone who worked hard on the picnic day.
