Mangaluru: Aishwarya Mallikarjun wins Benadryl BIG Golden voice regional round

Mangaluru, 01 Aug 2015: 92.7 BIG FM, Dakshina Kannada district’s most heard FM station organized the finals of Benedryl BIG Golden voice Mangaluru regional round at Roshni Nilaya College of Social Work, Valencia, here on Saturday August 1.
Aishwarya Mallikarjun won the finals of regional round and has been nominated to enter into the next round to be held in Mumbai. Lasya Updhaya became the runner up.
In it’s third year, BIG GOLDEN VOICE is a unique, first-of-its-kind radio based singing talent hunt conducted across 92.7 BIG FM’s 45 stations and first time ever in International countries where celebrity juror and mentor Shankar Mahadevan is looking for the Benadryl BIG Golden Voice of the country who gets a chance to debut as a playback singer in bollywood. A 2-month’s activity that will not only encourages local talent from socio cultural regions but also provides them with the opportunity to bring out their best.
To participate, listeners had to register through Interactive Voice Response (IVR). In Mangaluru, the participants had to register by singing a Tulu /Kannada folk song. BIG FM, Mangaluru received tremendous response and Saleem Javed, Rakshita, Shivshankar, Aishwarya Mallikarjun and Lasya Upadhyaya were chosen for the finals which was held in Roshni Nilayaya College, Mangaluru.
The writer, director, lyricist and musician Shashiraj Kavoor and popular singer Prakash Mahadevan were the jurors for BIG Golden voice city rounds. The producer/director of super hit Tulu movie ‘Chaali Polilu’ Prakash Pandeshwar and Virendra Shetty Kavoor, Renny D’Souza, director of Childline-1098, Prasanna from World of Titan, City centre mall and students from various schools were present.
The top 12 city winners from across the nation will be called to Mumbai for the next round. The winner of Benedryl Big Golden Voice will get a chance to work with composer-vocalist Shankar Mahadevan. Last edition’s winner Sayani Palit wins opportunity to sing for Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming movie ‘Katti Batti.’
RJ Errol, RJ Roopesh and RJ Raskhitha hosted the show.
Promo producer Joel Rebello, sales manager Rakesh, VJ Khushi, Childline-1098 Mangaluru staff, Roshni Nilaya College faculty were present.
