Udupi: St Mary’s College, Shirva take students on orientation visit to Mangaluru

Udupi, 01 Aug 2015: The students of St Mary’s College, Shirva, near here gone on a orientation visit to Hangyo Ice Cream Private Limited, Father Muller Charitable Institutions and Prashant Nivas, old age home at Mangaluru, on Wednesday July 29.
It was a whole day orientation visit to abovementioned organizations made along with the College Assistant Professors Laxmi, Shobha and Vignesh on Wednesday. The objective of the visits is to initiate the new students into the social work setting.

The visit began at Hangyo Ice Cream unit at Brahmavar, near here. The students went around visiting different production departments and learnt about the process. They also interacted with HR manager and gained info.
At Father Muller Medical College Hospital, Mangaluru - Assistant Professor Vinod has explained about the history of the Institution through the video clipping and taken the students around different departments. The counselor Zita explained about psychiatric ward and alcoholic de-addiction center and also met Father Muller Charitable Institution director Fr Patrick Rodrigues.
The students visited Prashant Nivas, Jeppu, Mangaluru. Sr Olivia explained about the humanitarian service at the orphanage that has 400 inmates comprising elderly, children and psychiatric patients.
The students presented a memento to the superior of Prashant Nivas and headed back to Shirva.
