Mangaluru: Tulu comedy movie - Super Marmaye set for premier in Aug

Mangaluru, 17 Jul 2015: It’s the golden season for Tulu filmdom, because 56 movies are screened in 44 years of its history. Seven Tulu movies out of 7 successfully screened for 100 days in 2014 alone. Four movies are screened in 2015 so far and all of them completed 50 days already. Another comedy movie ‘Super Marmaye’ is making its debut shortly to enthrall Tulu movie buffs. It has been awarded U certificate by censor board and likely to be released during second week of August.
Ram Shetty is the director of ‘Super Marmaye’ who was the stunt master for over 700 movies in Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Telugu and Tamil movies and directed bollywood movies, Gaddar, Army, Jagruti, Katarnak etc. It’s produced by Adyar Madhav Naik along with casts form Tulu theater.
Ram Shetty is not new to Tulu filmdom, because he had already produced 3 top Tulu movies – Bangarda Kural that is devotional movie in 2012, Badkere Budle in 1982 and Darda Seere in 1983. Both these movies are in deep memory of Tulu movie buffs. ‘I have realized the significance of comedy in Tulu movie that become box office hit, with that objective I have produced all comedy movie ‘Super Marmaye’. Although I am a stunt master, I have no such role in my movie, said director Ram Shetty.
The story hovers around a auto rickshaw driver who falls in love with the daughter of a bank manager and all his struggles to get married to his beau. Comedy king Meenanat Raghavendra Rai enacts the role of good for nothing son-in-law. Gopinat Bhat dons the role of father-in-law whose specialty lies is sending the audience on laughter bash even on serious roles. Other casts Naveen D Padil, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, and Arvind Bolar who are masters in comedy made justice to their different roles. Shradda Salian enacts the role of a wife of drunkard husband. She is born and brought up in Mumbai although her parents hailed from Manipal. She is the TV serial actor in Sub TV in the serial ‘Jini aur Juju’. She hardly speaks Tulu and none of Kannada. She is the second heroine in Super Marmaye movie, while Divyashree who is the sensation in Tulu movie ‘Chalipolilu’ is the lead heroine. Shobha Rai dons the role of mother. Bangarda Kural, Tulu movie hero Shivadwaj is the guest artiste.
The cameraman Ejan who was the associate of Ram Shetty in bollywood leads the shooting. The renowned playwright Navin Shetty Alake wrote dialogues to the script written by Ram Shetty in 2 years. Chandrakant Shetty, the famed music director of Tulu movie ‘Kadala Mage’ is the music director of Super Marmaye. Five songs are taken from Sasiraj Kavoor’s poems. Sachin Shetty is the assistant director. The movie has been shot in Sakleshpur and neighbouring areas. Tamma Laxman is choreographer. Other casts Karnoor Mohan Rai, Agnel Rodrigues, Pradeep Alva, Satish Bandale, Deepak Rai Panaje, Ganesh Malli acted in different roles. Ram Shetty had solely directed 3 Tulu movies in the past, while this time, he has produced the movie along with Adyar Madhav Naik. Deepak Shetty Kudrady, Jagdish Shetty Sarvani and Purushottam Bhandary Adyar also cast in the movie.
