Udupi, 15 Jul 2015: The online shopping trend among the youth in these days has ruined the sleep of an educated individual in a rural area.
A medical practitioner of Durga Nagar, Shankarapura, near Shirva, here who had ordered for a mobile and made online payment got a parcel delivered by a courier, but found stone in it. It has indeed shaken the confidence of online shoppers!
Dr Savio D’Souza, residing at Durga Nagar, Shankarapura, near Shirva here had given an order for a MicroMax mobile handset through snapdeal.com and paid online payment of Rs 6,350. Meanwhile, the courier man of Federal Express delivered a parcel to Dr Savio on Tuesday July 14, when Dr Savio opened it, he found only a few stones inside instead of mobile handset.
Dr Savio called Federal Express and complained to them in this regard. They said it’s their duty only to deliver the parcel and asked him to lodge complain with snapdeal.com
Dr Savio contacted snapdeal.com and hopes to get their reply. It’s worthwhile for Dr Savio to get a mobile handset since he had already made online payment. The incident indeed sends an alarm on other online shoppers for bogus dealings. Its irony that educated individuals are becoming prey to online shopping. It’s the high time, online shoppers to get prudent while ordering.
