Dubai: Mangalore Konkans invites entries to contest in UAE-level Cultural Competitions on Oct 16

Dubai, 12 Jul 2015: On popular demand Mangalore Konkans Dubai is back with UAE-level "Vividh Vinodaval Spordho" - a group talent contest - and invites all the enthusiastic Mangalureans in the UAE to take part in it.

 

’Vividh Vinodaval Spordho’ will be held on October 16 at JSS School Auditorium, Dubai.

 

 

The contest which was held previously in 2013, witnessed wonderful response from the audience as well as the participants. The huge success of this event has prompted the organization to yet again organize the contest of its kind and provide an opportunity for the participants to display their talents.

 

So get ready to showcase your talent! Be there at the venue and be a winner and be a part of the winning team.

Details of the Contest

Date and time: October 16, 3:30 to 10 pm

Venue: JSS School Auditorium (Behind Gulf News building), Dubai

Any one of the themes: Patriotism / Peace and Harmony / Save Environment / Social Issues.

Criteria for judgment: Originality, creativity, presentation, team involvement and moral/message conveyed through selected theme.

Prizes:

1st : AED 3,000 and trophy
2nd : AED 2,000 and trophy
3rd : AED 1,000 and trophy

Trophy for – Best MC, Best Male Artiste, Best Female Artiste and Best Child Performer.

Basic Rules:

This is a group talent contest in Konkani.

Entry is open to all Konkani speaking Mangalureans residing in the UAE with valid UAE residence visa.

Dance, a skit and a master of ceremony (MC) are mandatory for each group presentations.

Each group will be given maximum 40 minutes slot including time for the stage set-up and stage clearing.

Entry is limited to maximum 8 groups on a first-come-first-served basis.

Registration fee AED 300 per group.

Minimum of 10 and maximum of 20 participants in each group including prompter and musicians. An artiste can take part in one group only.

Avoid obscene or vulgar language/dress, reference to any religion / politics, use of prohibited or hazardous items on stage.

All participants should respect the UAE culture and adhere to the UAE laws.

All relevant scripts would be screened by the organizers prior to presentation which would be kept confidential by the committee set up for the purpose by the organization.

Judges’ decision is final and binding.

Last date to receive registration is September 30, 2015.
