K R Pete: MLA Narayan Gowda consoles family of farmers committed suicide; bear edu expenses of child

K R Pete, 09 Jul 2015: Mumbai entrepreneur and K R Pete MLA K C Narayan Gowda visited the families of farmers who committed suicide over unbearable debts – forty-two-year-old Shankare Gowda of Hirikalaleya, forty-year-old Pradeep of Doddatarahalli and forty-three-year-old Lokesh of Moodanahalli here on Wednesday July 8.
MLA Narayan consoled the families of suicide victims and pleaded the farmers’ not to take drastic step instead address their grievances with him. He assured them he would help in their need as much as he could. He offered Rs 10,000 each to the victim’s families and took the responsibility of bearing the educational expenses of their children.
To develop Hemagiri as tourist destination
The state government has created a master plan @ Rs 2.50 crore to develop basic infrastructure at the historical Hemagiri to transform as tourist destination. The state administration has already released Rs 50 lac in this regard. The guesthouses, floodlight at Hemagiri Falls, bathing points, toilets, drinking water facility, fencing and railing for Hemagiri dam etc will be developed at the earliest. It would open avenues to earn additional income for the farmers that would enhance their livelihood. If the farmers come forward to set up homestays and resorts on river bank, he would get 50 percent concession from tourism department, assured MLA Narayan.
