Mumbai: International Athlete Rohit Hegde promoted as Customs ACP

Mumbai, 05 Jul 2015: The metro’s senior customs officer Kannadiga Yermal Rohit Hegde was promoted to ACP. Hegde was serving at Navasheva Port, Navi Mumbai. He had served as customs officer at Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport and Mumbai Port Trust. He had joined customs as officer in 1980.
Hegde is the son of the late Chittaranjandas Hegde and Rata C Hegde, residents of Katpady, in Udupi district. He was a national and international athlete. Maharashtra state government conferred Chatrapati Shivaji Award on him, besides several awards in customs.
He is also active in social and religious activities in his native Katpady.
