Udupi: Bus stop inaugurated in memory of late Marceline DSouza at Sooda

Udupi/Sooda, 3 Jul 2015: On the occasion of the fifth death anniversary of late Marceline DSouza of Sooda, a bus stop and resting place for the travellers was inaugurated near Shri Subramanya temple in Sooda on Friday, 3 July 2015 at 12.15 pm. The bus stop was sponsored by Marian D’Souza, the  brother of late Marceline D’Souza and his family.

 

In commemoration of the fifth death anniversary of late Marceline D’Souza, requiem mass was offered in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Pernal  at 11 am by Rev. Fr. Stany Tauro, Parish Priest of Our Lady of Health Church, Shirva and Dean of Shirva Varado along with Rev. Fr. Valerian Mendonca, Chancellor of Udupi Diocese and Rev. Fr. Lawrence D’Souza, Director of Catholic Education Society of Udupi Diocese (CESU).

 

Soon after the mass, Rev. Fr. Lawrence D’Souza inaugurated the bus stop and dedicated it to the people of Sooda. In his address, Rev. Fr. Lawrence D’Souza appreciated the good work done by Marian D’Souza in memory of his late sister as she was concerned about the welfare of the neighbours.

 

As part of the triple occasion, the renovated house of Marian was inaugurated and blessed by Rev. Fr. Valerian Mendonca.

 

 

Marian D’Souza has been a well-known personality in the music circle. He and his team has already produced a Music CD titled “Tuje Charani...” that was released in 2012. The second CD titled “Tujem Rupnem...” will be released on 15 August 2015.

 

A native of Pernal, Marian had his early education in St. Mary’s High School, Shirva  and was adjudged as the Best Student of the school. Later, he went to Mumbai and continued his education in K.C. College, Mumbai from where he got BA degree in Economics. He continued his post graduate studies in the Economics Department of the Mumbai University and acquired MA degree in Economics.  Meanwhile, Marian was also employed in the Bankof India.

 

In 1978, Marian proceeded to Kuwait and served in the  Kuwait Bank  as Deputy Chief Auditor and retired in 2008. Since then he has settled down in native place. He married Lazia Cecilia D’Souza and they have two sons-Marvin and Melroy, both are serving in reputed companies in Melbourn, Australia.

Congratulations dear Marian Cecilia on your renovated house warming ceremony and also serving for the social cause by building the bus stop in memory of your late sister.Its an excellent idea and a just act to do as this will help the people of the neighbourhood.
