M’luru: Karnataka Journalists Union to organize National & State Conference in city from Jul 4

Mangaluru, 2 Jul 2015: Karnataka Journalists Union and Indian Journalists Union jointly will be organizing national and state conference at Vaibhav Hall, here from Saturday July 4 to Sunday July 5. The journalists who arrive to attend the conference will be taken to tour to tourists spots in Mangaluru and Moodbidri on Monday July 6. Over 40 senior journalists from all over India and over 40 journalists from all districts of Karnataka will attend the conference, said Karnataka Journalists Union – Dakshina Kannada district president Sudesh Kumar.
Addressing the media persons at Patrika Bhavan here on Thursday July 2, Journalists national and state conference will be held at Besant College auditorium, here on Saturday July 4 at 5.00pm.
The veteran journalist S Jayaram will deliver keynote address on visual media then and now and hold discussions on journalism.
DK district-in-charge minister Ramanath Rai will inaugurate the programme.
Karnataka Journalists Union president Murugesh B Shivapuji will preside the programme.
The state health and family welfare minister U T Khader, state sports and fisheries minister Abayachandra Jain, Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLAs J R Lobo and Moideen Bawa, DK Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim, City Police Commissioner S Murugan, Indian Journalists Union national president Kishan Bal Pandit, Mangaluru mayor Jacinta Alfred, SCDCC Bank chairman Rajendra Kumar, DK working journalists Association president Jagannat Shetty Bala, Panama Enterprises proprietor Vivek Raj, Karvali Group Afcalage managing director Ganesh Rao, Spandana TV proprietor Vilas Nayak, DK district information officer Khadersha, Karnatja Journalists Union Dakshina Kannada district president Sudesh Kumar will be present on the occasion.
The students of 3 city colleges will partake in the seminar at Besant College auditorium during the conference on Saturday evening. The former MP journalist Tejaswini Ramesh and senior journalist Sasidar Bhat will moderate the seminar.
The veteran journalists S Jayaram, Gangadhar Matti and Ahmed Anwar, longtime newspaper distributors S Taranat Kamat and Anant Bhat will be felicitated on the same occasion.
Karnataka Journalists Union vice president Dr Shivasharan Shetty, general secretary Satish Kapikad, treasurer Mohammed Hakim, member Bhava Padarangi and others were present at the press meet.
