Udupi: Moodubelle parishioners seeks generous contributions to begin music classes

Udupi, 01 Jul 2015: The parishioners of St Lawrence parish, Moodubelle, near here were keen to begin music classes at the parish since long.  Meanwhile, ICYM unit of Moodubelle parish has taken the lead to begin the classes with the guidance of spiritual director and parish priest, Fr Clement Mascarenhas and parish council vice president Neville D’Souza from Sunday July 12.

 

The music tutor for keyboard is Vidya D’Sa from Pangala parish suggested keyboard numbers: Casio CTK 1100 – 10 keyboards that costs Rs 7,500 each; Yamaha PSR 343 – 5 keyboards that costs Rs 12,000 each and Yamaha I 455 – 1 keyboard that costs Rs 27,000.  Total costs Rs 2.50 lac (It includes keyboards, furniture and other items).

 

Already 65 students have enrolled for the classes.  Vidya runs Melody Music School at Pangala, which is affiliated to Sandesha Lalit Kala Academy (Sandesha Foundation), Mangaluru, who will issue certificates upon successfully passing the exams.

 

 

The parish priest has allotted a separate hall that is situated above the sacristy for music.  In order realize the dream of parishioners to begin music classes; they need your generous contributions as the keyboards had to be bought before July 8.

 

A meeting to raise funds in this regard was held on Tuesday June 30 evening.

 

The assistant parish priest Fr Victor Fernandes, Youth Committee president Joseph martis, ICYM animators Vincent Fernandes and Rovita Fernandes, ICYM president Neville D’Souza, secretary Felina D’Souza were present at the dais.
