Bantwal: Monsoon fury; tree uproots on house at Bhandaribettu

Bantwal, 23 June 2015: A huge tamarind tree was uprooted crushing branches of others trees on a house at Bhandaribettu, near here owing to heavy rain and high velocity wind on Monday June 22 evening.

 

The house belonging to Keshav Bangera was partially damaged in the mishap. The elderly couple survived miraculously.

The revenue officials arrived at the spot and inspected the damage.

 

The local councillor Jagdish Kundar and neighbours chopped off the branches of tree that was uprooted on the house.

 

Bantwal town sub-inspector Nandakumar also visited the family who face uncertain future because of their acute poverty.
