Mangaluru: City Airport customs seize Saudi Riyals 20,000 from Dubai-bound passenger

Mangaluru, 19 Jun 2015: The customs officers at the Mangaluru International Airport on Wednesday June 17 seized foreign currency notes amounting to a total of Saudi Arabian Riyals 20,000 in various denominations, equivalent to Rs 3.52 lac from the passenger Jafar Sadique Chala Mohammed Kunhi, a resident of Vidyanagar, Kasargod, Kerala as he was not in possession of any valid money exchange documents for the same and attempted to smuggle the same out of India at the time of his departure from Mangaluru International Airport by Jet Airways flight number 9W532 to Dubai on Wednesday night.
Further investigation is under progress.
