Udupi: Foreign Delegation of Technical Experts Visit Bantakal Engineering College

Udupi, 16 June 2015: A delegation of distinguished researchers and eminent professors from the USA visited Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management (SMVITM), Bantakal, here on Monday June 15 and held detailed discussions with the college management on creating 2 interdisciplinary Centres of Excellence: Centre for the Preservation of Ancient Manuscripts (CPAM) and Centre for Sensor Development and Integration (CSDI).
The team, led by Professor Dr P R Mukund from the renowned Rochester Institute of Technology, New York (NY) USA, comprised Professor Dr Roger Easton, Centre for Imaging Science, RIT, NY; Dr Keith Knox, Technical Fellow (retired), The Boeing Company, Hawaii; Dr Vanditha Mukund, senior vice presidnet, NanoArk Corporation, NY and S Satish, advisor, Karnataka Science & Technology Promotion Society (KSTePS), Bengaluru.
The main objective of the meeting was preparations for developing SMVITM into a unique engineering institution that blends the knowledge of current science and technology with the wisdom of India’s past heritage and to come up with a strategic action plan for materializing these objectives.
Swami Vishwavallabha of Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt, Udupi; P Srinivasa Tantry and Sri Ratnakumar, members of Shri SodeVadiraja Mutt Education Trust and governing council of SMVITM were present on the occasion.
The director of the Institute, Professor Dr Radhakrishna S Aithal thanked the delegation for showing their interest in the budding Institution and also for joining hands for the noble cause.
