Moodbidri: Alva’s Pragati - 2015, Mass Placement Drive at Vidyagiri Campus from Jun 20 to 21

Moodbidri, 06 Jun 2015: Alva’s Pragati-2015 - the annual Mass Placement drive organized by Alva’s Education Foundation (AEF), will be held at their Vidyagiri Campus here on Saturday June 20 and Sunday June 21.

 

AEF has been and is committed to the cause of creating employment opportunities for the rural youth that go unnoticed as they have limited access to employment markets.

 

The sixth edition of Alva’s Pragati will see a participation of more than 250 companies.

 

Prominent companies that are participating include Oracle, EY, IBM, TCS, Amazon, Biocon, Adani Group, Flipkart, TechMahindra, Godrej, Titan, ITC,  Taj Group, ICICI Bank, Wipro, TVS,  AllCargo,   Standard Chartered Bank, Axis Bank, Kirloskar Electric, Himalaya, Idea, etc.

 

As of now, about 210 companies have confirmed their participation and the number are expected to go over 250 in the next few days.

 

The main objective of conducting this placement drive is to create opportunities. Rural areas lack both opportunities and information about job avenues. This platform was primarily created for this purpose 6 years back.

 

Alva’s Pragati started with 38 companies participating in its first edition. Last year’s Alva’s Pragati witnessed the participation of 216 companies and over 18,000 job aspirants with more than 3,764 offers rolled out.

 

More representation of companies this year from sectors such as IT, ITeS, manufacturing, Telecom, BFSI, sales and retail, pharma, hospitality, healthcare.

 

1.      More opportunities available for B Sc candidates: There are wide opportunities for students with B Sc qualification. Oracle, TCS, Biocon, Himalaya, WIPRO would be specifically coming to recruit B Sc candidates.

 

2.      Extensive opportunity for graduates across streams: There are huge numbers of opportunities across sectors for graduates from various streams. Companies like BIAL, Telecom companies, banking companies like Standard Chartered, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank would be hiring graduates from all streams.

 

3.      IT companies are participating: Premier IT companies like TCS, Oracle, EY, Amazon, Tech Mahindra, Flipkart etc., are participating.

 

4.      Manufacturing companies are also participating: A variety of companies from the manufacturing sector with opportunities for ITI/Diploma candidates. Companies like Titan, ITC, Videocon, Biocon, Toyota, SSS, Kirloskar Electric, SKF, etc., are participating in Alva’s Pragati 2015.

 

5.      Good opportunities await nursing graduates: A good range of opportunities awaits nursing graduates fromNMC, Ifan Global, Thunga Hospitals, AJ Hospital, etc,

 

6.      Construction based companies are offering positions for both B.E. and Diploma/ITI candidates.Poorvankara group, Vijayanath Solutions, and others are participating in this drive.

 

7.      Opportunity for Pharmaceutical students: Good opportunity from Top Hospitals, Pharma companies awaits Pharmaceutical students.

Throughout the year the placement department of AEF has been hosting a number of exclusive/ pool drives for various companies, sending mailers on behalf of companies based on their specific requirements.

 

Highlights of Alva’s Pragati-2015 are

 

1.    Registration is FREE - for both companies and candidates. Online registration can be done onwww.alvaspragati.com.

2.  A color coded card is given to each candidate that will help match the right candidate with the right profile and correspondingly the color (based on their requirements) is displayed next to the company name in all the displays.

3. Employability Enhancement Center (Udyoga Mahiti Kendra) - is a dedicated assessment and counseling centre staffed by HR executives, trainers and teachers. Candidates are guided and helped to face interviews with the right companies.

4. Clarity Wall -displays all the open positions of participating companies with their descriptions.

5. Accommodation for outstation candidates: Accommodation will be provided to outstation candidates participating in this drive.

6. Bus facility for ITI candidates: Buses would be provided to ITI candidates from their respective institute to the venue on both the days. The institutes will have to provide us prior information on the number of students participating.

7. Opportunity for lateral entry candidates across companies.
