Dubai: Gulf edition of Tulu poetry book - Uretta Kannuda Siri released

Dubai, 02 Jun 2015: Uretta Kannuda Siri, Tulu poetry book authored by Prakash Rao Payyar was released during the function held at Fortune Grand Hotel, Bur Dubai, here on Friday May 29. It was also released by Tulu Sahitya Academy at Mangaluru, a week ago.

 

The office bearers of Kannada, Tulu, Konkani and Beary Associations in UAE, and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

Introducing the book to the gathering, Gopinath Rao said, ‘The poetry book has enriched the flavour of vibrant culture of Tulunadu. It has everything you have possibly seen or wished to see while you are in your native place and therefore worth the effort.’

 

UAE Exchange COO Sudhir Kumar Shetty released the poetry book.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Shetty reminisced his childhood and nostalgia that excites him during his vacations back in his hometown. His family loves to enjoy the unique culture of Tulunadu. He appreciated the work of Prakash Payyar in trying to document the culture in detail for the benefit of younger generation.

 

Frank Fenandes and Shekhar Shetty lauded the efforts of Prakash Rao Payyar and assured him of support.

 

Manohar Tonse analysed the poems to bring out the glory of the presentation of the culture, the love, the depiction of mythological characters in the book and the uniqueness of some of the poems. 

 

Shantaram Achar read the title poem - Uretta Kannuda Siri for the delight of the gathering.

Murgesh Gajare, Ganesh Rai and Vasukumar Shetty congratulated Prakash Rao Payyar for his efforts and wished him success in his future endevor.

 

Sarvottam Shetty in his presidential address narrated events in his long association with Prakash Rao Payyar and congratulated him on yet another masterpiece, this time in the form of a Tulu poetry book. He read a paragraph from Dr Sunita Shetty’s foreword of the book, which he said points out to the creativity within Prakash Rao Payyar and his determination to follow his plans meticulously.

 

Reshma Shetty rendered the prayers. Prakash Rao Payyar welcomed the gathering. Vinaykumar Naik compered the programme.
