Mumbai: Re-installation of temple deity at Datta Jagadamba Mandir, Baptistawady, Andheri (E)

Mumbai, 31 May 2015: The natives of undivided Dakshina Kannada district who migrated to metro in search of green pastures enriched their culture whilst living here. They set up temples to sustain their faith and the result is what we celebrate the re-installation of temple deities and ongoing religious celebrations, said Vidwan Pernankila Haridas Bhat, chief priest of Ambika Adinateshwar Mahaganapati temple, Vidyavihar, here.
Vidwar Haridas was speaking during religious discourse that was held during the re-installation of temple deity and Vedic celebrations at Datta Jagadamba temple, Baptistawady, Andheri (East) here on Saturday May 30.
The former union minister Gurudas Kamat inaugurated the programme and conveyed best wishes for the temple and its devotees.
The entrepreneurs Divakar Shetty Mudrady, Ravindranat Bhandary, Gopal S Putran, Harish R Kotian, Shivaram K Bhandary Attur and Yashwant Shetty and others were present.
The temple Committee vice president Shekar M Anchan, secretary Yashwant Amin, treasurer Chandrakant Sriyan, women wing president Sunanda Karkera, Mahesh Shanti Hejmady and others were present at the dais.
The temple Committee president Dayanand Anchan welcomed the gathering. Surendra Kumar Hegde delivered the introductory address. Amita Suvarna compered the programme.
The Vedic celebrant Mahesh Shanti Hejmady performed the religious celebrations and distributed the prasadams to the devotees.
The child artistes presented Bharatanatyam dances and also Tulu Yakshagana play ‘Kordabbu Tannimaniga on Saturday evening.
