Honnavar: Memoir of Aruna Shanbagh, organized at her hometown on May 23

Honnavar, 22 May 2015: A memoir of Aruna Shanbagh, who passed away in Mumbai being in coma for 43 years a few days will be held at her native town in Gopinat auditorium, Haladipura, here on Saturday May 23 at 3.00pm, informed Hanate – literary and cultural Forum, Uttar Kannada district president Arvind Karkikody.
Aruna is a history now, but the agony of her life indeed haunts. A meeting has been organized to reminisce Aruna’s childhood in her ancestral home, the courtyard where she played, the lanes that she frequented to pluck the flowers, her rangoli drawn household, etc.
The veteran story writer Dr Sridar Balegar will inaugurate the programme.
The veteran poet Dr Sripada Shetty will preside the programme.
The extended family of Arun who loved her dearly, her colleagues and friends, her teachers, will be present to pay homage to the departed soul of dear Aruna, said Arvind Karkikody.
