Kanhangad: Nadoja Dr H L Nage Gowda centenary birth anniversary celebrated

Kanhangad, 20 May 2015: The series of programmes that are being organized by Janapad Parishat is welcome indeed to revive the traditional practices at a time when the new generation is lured by modern living. The contributions of folk art are significant in promoting humanity, and Indian cultural upbringing, said MLC Captain Ganesh Karnic.
MLC Karnik was speaking after inaugurating the eighth series of Janapad mobile programme that was organized as part of centenary birth anniversary of Nadoja Dr H L Nage Gowda by Karnataka Janapad Parishat – Kerala unit, in association with Karavali Harikata Parishat, Tirupati Tirumala Dasa Sahitya Project and Kalkura Foundation at the Town Hall here on Monday May 18.
He further said, ‘The history has significant events that led to discovery in science, mathematics, sociology etc. One got to introspect on every step; furthermore we enjoy the fruits of constant search by our ancestors. The need of the hour is to honor the folk art and tradition that led to our ancestors to live in peace and tranquility,’ said MLC Ganesh.
Karnataka Janapad Parishat - Kerala unit president Keshavaprasad Nanittilu presided the programme.
Kerala Handicrafts Board chairman M C Kamaruddin and town councilor K Divya were the chief guests of the occasion.
The international hairstylist award recipient K Shivaram Bhandary Attur, Dr Ambedkar -Memorial Education Trust chairman Metro Mohammed Haji, Kanhangad – Deepa Nursing Home proprietor Dr K G Pai, Kanhangad Kannada Sangha president Vasant Shenoy, Professor A Srinath, Balakrishna Aggittaya, Laxman Prabhu Kumbla, Kelu Master Agalpady, chief secretary Radhakrishna K Uliatadka and others were present.
Karavali Harikata Parishat – Kanhangad president Haridas Jayanand Kumar Hosdurga welcomed the gathering. Karnataka Janapad Parishat member convener Padmaraj Ayingott proposed vote of thanks. Ravi Naikapu compered the programme.
The folk art troupe of Beary Sahitya Academy and Karnataka Janapad Parishat – Kerala unit presented variety of dances on the occasion.
