Mangaluru: Ekka Saka, Tulu movie set to create new record

Mangaluru, 04 May 2015: Ekka Saka, Tulu movie that is released recently in theaters across Udupi and Dakshina Kannada district is the testimony that innovations are driving Tulu filmdom.

 

Nonetheless, Ekka Saka, is likely to create a new record of sort in Tulu filmdom, at a time when another Tulu movie, Chalipolilu has completed 100 days recently. Ekka Saka has a social message and full of comedy from the beginning till the last has been successful in garnering viewership. The tragic love story of movie would bother the viewer even coming out of the theater because it has a social message for everyone.

 

The movie was produced with the renowned artistes of Tulu theater and also well known actors of Kannada filmdom is typically local.  The viewer gets the taste of real Mangaluru because; the a few local dialects are used in some scenes that are the highlight of this movie. The hero Hitesh Nayak and heroine Sonal Monteiro displayed their versatility in acting although it was their first movie. Other Kannada renowned actors Acchyut, tennis Krishna, Sudha Belavady and Padmaja Rao have done justice for their roles. The hero’s father role enacted by Umanath Kotian was excellent indeed.

 

 

Naveen D Padil who acted on the role of an unemployed conning everyone as his full time job was a hit because his every dialogue ignites laughter. Tulu theater artistes Bhojaraja Vamanjoor, Sundar Rai Mandara, Arvind Bolar, Prasanna Bailoor and Sandeep Shetty were also successful in creating laughter. The dialogues of theater artiste Satish Bandale will ever remain with fresh with the viewers even after coming out of the theater.

 

TV actors Shobharaj Pavoor and Chaitra Shetty have same significance of the movie hero and heroine of the movie. Chaitra shines like a modern college girl, while Shobharaj is successful in drawing the attention by his unique style. Other actors of TV serials Raghavendra Rai, Ravi Kumar Suratkal, Shobha Rai also has significant roles. 

 

The cameraman Krishna Sarati also contributed for the success of Ekka Saka, because he has captured the streets of Mangaluru in perfection. The young music director Ravi has composed songs in pure Tulu with popular tunes of Hulivesha in coastal district.

 

The theater artiste and Lakumi theater group manager Kishore D Shetty produced this movie along with young entrepreneurs Chandrahas Shetty and Girish Shetty, which has created great expectations among the movie goers. No doubt, it has proved by release of Ekka Saka movie. The executive producer and also make up artiste Mohan Koppala also contributed for its success.

 

Director’s versatility

Ekka Saka is the fifty-fifth movie in the history of forty-four-years of Tulu filmdom. It is the second Tulu movie released in this year, which has all the possibilities of creating a record. The movie director Suraj Shetty has all the qualities to grow in filmdom, because of mass appeal, innovative script and dialogues. Suraj Shetty deserves kudos in this regard.

Ekka Saka – movie title is drawn from the song of Tulu movie ‘Koti – Chennaya’ which was composed by Dr B A Vivek Rai. It has become online movie now. The hero Prashant (Hitesh Nayak) who has been looking after his father’s money lending business falls in love at first site in the college campus with the heroine Divya (Sonal Monteiro). He seeks Divya to marry him within a few days of knowing each other. The heroine asks him to convince her parents. When both of them decided to get married, their parents were adamant to their wishes. Meanwhile, both take the help of Gopal (Naveen D Padil) to get married, but something unforeseen happens.
