Ramakrishna Mission carries out Swacch Mangaluru on 14th consecutive Sunday

Mangaluru, 3 May 2015: Ramakrishna Mission carried out Swacch Mangaluru for Swacch Bharath - cleanliness drive on fourteenth consecutive Sunday on May 3 at Nandigudde here.
The drive was inaugurated by Katyayini, president of BJP Mahila Morcha and Nakre Surendra Shetty, in the presence of Swami Jitakamananda, MLC Captain Ganesh Karnik, Shubhoday Alva, Satyanarayana K V, NSS co-ordinator Vineetha Rai, Suresh Shetty and other eminent persons were present at the venue.
Students of Ramakrishna Mission Balakashram and other devotees and well-wishers of the Ashram took an active part in the drive along with civic workers.
The drive began at Koti Chennaya Circle and from there it proceeded towards Marnamikatta through Nandigudda Bus Stand and Shantinagar Bus stand. Students of Ramakrishna Mission, under the leadership of Swami and MLC Captain Karnik, cleared the garbage by picking the pieces of paper and plastic. They also distributed handbills among the residents and public there.
Ramakrishna Mission is also renovating and improving the basic public amenities under this Swacch Mangaluru Drive. As a part of this initiative, the volunteers washed and cleaned the Nandigudda Bus Shelter and Shantinagar Bus shelters and painted them giving them a new look. The dilapidated platform near the banyan tree there was repaired and renovated thus enhancing beauty of the place. MRPL, principal patron of this initiative supported this drive.
This is a part of the 40-weeks Cleanliness Drive being organized by the Ramakrishna Mission and initiated on February 1.
