Bantwal, 27 Apr 2015: The Tahsildar has issued orders for No Parking that has been prominently displayed at the city center, while the motor cyclists are least bothered. It’s the situation found at old taluk panchayat building at B C Road, here.
At the backdrop of ongoing construction works to build Mini Vidhan Soudha, the offices of food and electioneering departments are shifted to old taluk panchayat building, where the social forestry department, offices of Panemangaluru gram panchayat, Nemmadi Kendra, social welfare department, Press Club and Navachetana Seva Trust are already functioning in the same building. Tahsildar considering all these factors had issued the orders of No Parking to curb reckless parking by motorists.
B C Road sans No Parking
The parking areas are not allotted by the taluk administration in B C Road, owing to which the motorcyclists park their vehicles wherever they wish. A few motorcyclists who are employed in Mangaluru park their vehicles at old taluk panchayat compound and others also follow suit.
The reckless riding by motorcyclists and scant regard for No Parking orders issued by Tahsildar poses threat to unwary pedestrians who expect Tahsildar to implement the orders with all earnestness.
