Kanajar Welfare Association Kuwait donates over Rs 7 Lac to Charity

Kuwait, 30 Mar 2015: Kanajar Welfare Association Kuwait [KWAK] celebrated their fifteenth anniversary to raise funds for a charitable cause which was presented before a packed audience at the American International School, Maidan Hawally here recently.
The event comprised of melodious songs, foot-tapping dances and a hilarious Konkani drama ‘Maka Nangi’ by playwright Pradeep Barboza Paladka.
The proceeds that remained after deducting minimal expenses were INR 7, 33,024 (Indian Rupees Seven Lac Thirty Three Thousand and Twenty Four only) will be handed over to 2 needy institutions:Snehalaya Psycho Social Rehabilitation Centre, Mangalore and Manasa Rehabilitation Centre, Pamboor, Udupi district.
Joseph Crasta of Snehalaya assured KWAK that the amount received would be used for the purchase of an ambulance which they are in dire need and Sr Telma of Manasa expressed that the amount received will be used for installing CCTV surveillance system at Manasa premises.
KWAK president Antony Victor Miranda expressed his gratitude to all the generous sponsors, well-wishers and the audience who whole-heartedly supported and encouraged KWAK’s new faces and talents for the noble cause of KWAK.
