Puttur: Awards to Suraksha Consumer Forum of St Philomena College

Puttur, 19 Mar 2015: Under the auspices of the department of food/civil supplies and consumer affairs of Dakshina Kannada (DK) district and DK district Federation of Consumer Organizations®, World Consumer Day celebrations and awarding Certificates on Consumer Education was held at DK zilla panchayat - Netravathi auditorium here recently.

 

DK district Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim inaugurated the programme. 

 

The certificates were distributed to the students who have successfully completed the certificate course on Consumer Education. For the seventh time, Suraksha Consumer Forum was adjudged as the Best Consumer Club and Professor Dinakara Rao was recognized as the Best Co-ordinating Director in college section during this academic year.

 

DK district Federation of Consumer Organizations® honored Professor Dinakara Rao, for the remarkable achievements as the Director of Consumer Forum since 7 years.

 

 

Chinmayi N R, Mukundakrishna and Samanvitha of I B.Com A section were honored with gold, silver and bronze medals respectively for their outstanding performance in certificate course on consumer education.

 

The project report prepared by Poojashree and group of I B Com A sSection on the topic, Misleading Advertisements won the Best Project Report Award and the project report prepared by Chinmayi and group of I B.Com A Section on the topic, Drinking Water won the Second Best Project Report Award.  

 

DK zilla panchayat CEO P I Shrividhya, and University College former principal Professor Satyanarayana Mallipatna was the chief guests of the occasion. 

 

DK district Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum president Asha Shetty presided the programme.

 

Suratkal – Govind Das College principal Professor Rajamohan Rao, Principal, Puttur – St Philomena College principal Professor Leo Noronha, SDM College of Business Management principal Professor Aruna P Kamath, and Dr Kamble Balakrishna Y were guests of honor. 

 

DK district Federation of Consumer Organizations® president M J Salian delivered the introductory address. DK district department of food, civil supplies and consumer affairs deputy director Sharana Basappa welcomed the gathering.

 

St Philomena College vice principal Professor Vishnu Bhat, Professor Pradeep K S and 54 members of Suraksha Consumer Forum of St Philomena College have participated in this programme.
