St Aloysius Pry School honors mayor, MUDA president

Mangaluru, 19 Mar 2015: The newly-elected mayor Jacinta Alfred and the president of Mangalore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) Haji Ibrahim Kodijal were felicitated at a function at St Aloysius Higher Primary School here on Wednesday March 18.

 

Receiving the honor, mayor Jacinta said that providing basic facilities for Mangaloreans would be her first priority. She also added that she would work for the poorest of the poor in her capacity as mayor.

 

 

MUDA president Ibrahim invited the students to be good human beings. He reminded the students that every religious text, be it Hindu, Christian or Muslim, called upon their followers to be good Hindu, Christian and Muslim. Recent developments in Mangalore such as moral policing were a blot to the communal harmony that this place was known for, Ibrahim added.

 

St Aloysius Institutions rector Fr Denzil Lobo called upon the outgoing students of Class VII to be focused on their goal. He said that they must always keep the goal ahead of them, with the guru (teacher) guiding them from behind.

 

The correspondent of the school Fr Eric Mathias felicitated the dignitaries.

 

The head teacher Philomena Lewis, PTA vice president Anil Kumar were present.
