Students protest after alleged assault by KSRTC bus conductor
Mangaluru, 11 Mar 2015: Students of St Rosario College here mass bunked classes and staged a protest at Bunder police station after a student was allegedly assaulted by a KSRTC bus conductor.
In the complaint filed by the students, it is stated that when two girls were about to board the bus, the conductor named Murugesh from Bagalkot, told the driver to start the bus even before they could get inside. When Samad, a first year B.Com student at St Rosario College hailing from Uppinangady, who was in the bus objected this, Murugesh, in a fit of anger allegedly assaulted him. The students in their complaint further stated that Murugesh often abused students possessing bus passes.
After the police assured to take stern action against Murugesh, the students withdrew the protest.
On the other hand, Murugesh alleged that the students had attacked him with blades and that he got himself treated at Wenlock hospital.
