M’luru: 92.7 BIG FM confers BIG Kannaditi Awards to 7 Distinguished Women Achievers

Mangaluru, 09 Mar 2015: 92.7 BIG FM, number 1 FM Radio station of Mangaluru, conferred BIG Kannaditi Awards to 7 distinguished achievers from undivided Dakshina Kannada district to mark International Women’s Day celebrations here on Sunday March 8.

 

The achievers were selected based on the detailed survey undertaken by team BIG FM.

 

 

Achievers:

 

C S Radhika, an ambulance driver and the owner from Kulai, who struggled after her husbands death, to fulfill his dream of having an own ambulance. She worked hard and now owns 10 ambulences.

 

Rathi Shetty, a nurse and the social worker from Karkala. She dedicated her life to serve the society. She is a recipient of Florence Nightingale Award from the Indian President Pranab Mukherjee.

 

Sarojini Shetty - Mangaluru, a senior actress was selected for her contribution to Tulu theater and movies.

 

Bhuvaneshwari Hegde, a stand-up comedian from Kadri here received the award for her contribution to Kannada comedy industry.

 

Shruthi Hegde from Kumtaru, Kasargod district of Kerala has been nominated for award as she being an Endosulfan victim has secured first rank in II PUC and currently she is pursuing her medical studies. Her dream is to serve for Endosulfan victims.

 

Ajjamma from Udupi is nominated for her selfless service for the society as a hotel owner.

 

Ullal police sub-inspector Bharati was awarded for her strong service against crime and maintaining peace in society.

 

Mangalore south MLA J R Lobo conveyed the initiative of BIG FM to the Chief Minister of Karnataka and issued Appreciation Letters on behalf of Karnataka government.

 

Speaking on this occasion, MLA Lobo said, ‘I congratulate the women achievers and I assure my support and the support of state government for any noble cause initiated by 92.7BIGFM.’

 

Kannada cine actress Manasa Joshi was also present and honored the achievers.

 

A special programmes on the achievers was aired throughout the week in BIG Coffee by RJ Roopesh from 8.00am to 12.00pm.

 

RJ Errol, RJ Rakshita, RJ Roopesh, executive producer Shilpa Shetty, Mangaluru station head Anirudh and others were present on this occasion.
