Mangaluru, 05 Mar 2015: A discussion meet on union Budget – 2015 was held at Besant Women’s College, here on Wednesday March 4.
Professor G V Joshi of Nitte University, chartered accountant Kiran A Vasant, Manipal University assistant Professor Raviraj, Mangalore University communications department director and economics Professor Dr Sripati Kalluraya and other experts were present.
Professor Joshi spoke on the effects of budget on national growth and development.
The chartered accountant Kiran spoke on effects of budget on National Stock Exchange (NSE).
Professor Raviraj spoke on effects of budget on common man in the country.
The students and lecturers of different colleges participated in the discussions. Nearly 90 students and lecturers partaken in inter-college discussion meet. It has opened the concern of youth towards the reforms of national economy.
Dr Sripati Kalluraya in the concluding address said that union Budget - 2015 is a balance budget, because the state governments were given scope to take decisions in maintaining economic balance in towns and rural areas.
Besant Women’s College M Com department director and convener of discussion meet Dr Balaji Bovi was present on the dais. Besant Women’s College principal Dr Sudha K welcomed the gathering. Head of department of economics Professor Indiradevi K P proposed vote of thanks.
