Bantwal, 01 Mar 2015: Satya – Dharma Jodukare Kambala, that was organized by Ramanjaneya Geleyara Balaga for the successive third year at Maira Barkejalu, Kakyapadav in Uli gram panchayat, here was inaugurated with fanfare on Saturday February 28 night.
The progressive farmer Babu Gowda Perngalu inaugurated the Kambala by unfurling flowers of palm.
Namma Bantwala Group chairman Prashant Punjalkatte was present.
PWD contractor Samrat inaugurated the stage programme held on Koti-Chennaya stage.
The Kambala chief juror M Rajeev Shetty Yedtoor was the chief guest, said that CM Siddaramaiah has assured to continue Kambala, while its facing the threat from animal care activists and SC judgment.
Sarapady BJP Shakti Kendra president Harischandra Poojary lauded the efforts of Ramanjaneya Geleyara Balaga for organizing Kambala in the remote village in order to sustain Tulu folk art despite financial constraint, said Poojary.
Bantwal deputy Tahsildar Rohinat, Kajekar gram panchayat former president Deekayya Bangera, entrepreneur Narayan Shetty Kakya, Manmataraj Jain Periyar, Vinayashanti Patlakere, Tukrappa Gowda, Uppinangady dentist Dr Rajaram, Uli gram panchayat member Chidanand Rai, folk artiste Venkappa Kuntalapalke, progressive former Sudhakar Shetty Shankarabettu, Praveen Shetty Kinjalu, Vittal Bhandary, Vinayaka Pai, Harish Kakya, Anni Poojary, Sunil Kumar, Jaya Shetty Kinjalu, Kusumadhar Urki, Dharnappa Poojary Maira, Keshav Poojary Kukkaje, Sridar Poojary, Jinnappa Gowda, chief juror Niranjan Rai, president Latish Kukkaje, chief secretary Purushottam Poojary, treasurer Suresh Maira and Shivanand Maira were present at the dais.
Ramanjaneya Geleyara Balaga president advocate Ranjit Maira welcomed the gathering. Kambala Committee president M Tungappa Bangera delivered the introductory address. Prashant Maira compered the programme.
Over 100 pairs of buffaloes are participating in the Kambala that was held in the presence of taluk deputy Tahsildar and police as per the directions of court.
