Belthangady, 25 Feb 2015: Tracing of Ramdas in Bolar here on Tuesday, February 25 who was missing from Mumbai has left behind a question over the dead bodies traced at the Netravathi river bank. The family members of Ramdas had filed a missing complaint in Mumbai as he was missing since November, 2014.

Few days ago, a migrant labourer Mallesh, who hails from Bellary was arrested on charges of murdering Ramdas for money after a phone belonging to Ramdas was found with the accused. But the family of Ramdas denied to claim the body stating it was not him. Hence the cops had to send the body for DNA test. During interrogation, Mallesh had confessed that he along with two acquaintances had murdered Ramdas to grab his valuables including money.

The driver of Fisheries College bus, Vijay traced Ramdas on Tuesday in Bolar who was seen loitering in the vicinity in an unstable condition from last ten days. The police had also published a missing report in Udayavani as a final resort to trace Ramdas. It is said that Ramdas’ family who have arrived to the city will present a reward to Vijay for his timely help. Ramadas’ wife Laxmi, daughter Pushpa, son Sanjeev and sister Nirmala were happy to see the missing family member in Mangaluru.

Belthangady Circle Inspector Lingappa Poojary along with Pandeshwar police have now shifted Ramdas to Belthangady as a case has been filed in the station.

Unclaimed bodies

The police have to now investigate the whereabouts of the unclaimed bodies which were traced at the bank of the river Netravathi. Out of 110 unnatural death reported in Belthagady region, 16 cases are still not being investigated since 2014. In 2015, the cops had traced four unidentified bodies in the region. The police are suspecting that the tourists who arrived to Dharmasthala must have committed suicide owing to various reasons.

Murder by Mallesh

The murder mystery of Mallesh is still unsolved as the cops are trying to figure out who the deceased person is. The accused has also confessed that he had killed a woman in Ullal region but the police are unable to trace the ground reality. Only the DNA test seems to be a ray of hope for the cops to proceed with the investigation.
