Mangaluru: Vishwa Konkani Alumni To Host Mega Event

 

Prerna – A Confluence Of Ideas And Motivation

Mangaluru, 18 Feb 2015: VAA, the Alumni Association formed by the recipients of Vishwa Konkani Scholarships instituted by World Konkani Centre, Mangaluru, is organising a day long mega event called Prerna – A Confluence of Ideas and Motivation on 21st February 2015 at T.V.Raman Pai Convention Hall, Mangaluru. The conference is one of the initiatives as envisaged by VISION TVM of World Konkani Centre. The event will be inaugurated by Padmashree awardee Shri T.V.Mohandas Pai., in the gracious presence of Shri Basti Vaman Shenoy, President of World Konakni Centre. Ms. Lenita Jenifer Menezes, the president of VAA will deliver a welcome address.

 

Prerna which will endeavour to be an annual event, will present this year 6 speakers who have not only dared to tread the uncharted path, in professional and personal life, but have also carved out a niche for themselves. Joint Managing Director of Indoco Remedies Shri Sundeep Bambolkar, Media and Branding Professional Shri Mudar Patherya, Educationist and Social Leader Shri T.V.Mohandas Pai, Entrepreneur of Zerodha.com fame Shri Nithin Kamath, prominent TV Anchor at CNBC Ms. Sonia Shenoy and the mind reader Shri Nakul Shenoy will be speaking at this edition of Prerna.

 

To broadbase the programme and seek more participation, the event would be open to student fraternity of the region. Students desirous of participating may kindly contact the organisers for registration and entry passes. While there is no entry fee, the seating capacity of the venue may restrict the numbers of passes for issue. The event is organised by VKSSF ALUMNI ASSOCIATION and World Konkani Centre, Mangaluru.

 

VKSSF Alumni Association has been established to foster the ideals of giving back to society under the vision TVM programme of World Konkani Centre. Today the members of VAA have spread across the world occupying coveted positions in various corporations and organisations. As true bearers of the spirit of Konkani speaking people who have whole heartedly contributed to the regions all round development, VAA is initiating a platform event where all the established alumni can interact with student population of the region, motivate and inspire them and foster creativity and innovation.

Brief introduction of the speakers:

Sundeep Bambolkar is a grass root professional who believes in starting small and scaling up by persistence and reskilling. Walking this talk has enabled him to transform his company from a Rs 2 Crores turnover and 150 employees entity, into an well admired organisation with revenues of Rs 875 Crores, 5,500 employees spread across 5 locations having a  market capitalisation of Rs 3,000 Crores.

 

Mudar Patherya started off as a cricket writer at 18 and found his calling soon after. He virtually kick started the annual reports movement in India and now runs the largest annual reports agency in India with prominent national clients. A stock picker, creative writer, corporate communication expert, grassroots motivator, he is also the force behind a movement called ’Kolkata Gives".

 

Nithin Kamath, before founding Zerodha in 2010, had been a professional trader for over a decade. Not satisfied with the solutions available to him as a stock trader, he spotted a niche and created an entity which altered the competitive landscape of Indian stock broking. Nithin won the 2013 CII Emerging Entrepreneur Award for pioneering the discount broking model with Zerodha.com

 

Before playing a strategic role in making Infosys one of the world’s most respected software companies, T.V.Mohandas Pai was an Accountant in a transport firm. His stance on corporate governance and  transparency for corporate sector is well known  and he is striving to bring about the same in public life and government bodies. Improving literacy, public infrastructure, public policy process are his passion. He is also the force behind  AKSHAY PATRA.

 

Sonia Shenoy, a familiar face for all business news watchers, has been a prominent CNBC TV18 anchor for 5 years and tracks local and global factors which can impact our capital markets. A part of the business and financial news Industry for almost a decade she has also played part in popularising equity cult in many cities by being an integral part of the team which conducts Investors awareness camps across India.

 

Nakul Shenoy is a leading corporate speaker, expert magician hypnotist and entertainer with unique insights on influence, persuasion, and people behaviour. He took to magic at the age of five via his fascination for the comic book ’Mandrake The Magician’. He performed his first public show at the age of 15, and since then has grown to be a sought-after entertainer for Fortune 500 companies and has performed at venues in all over the world.
