Karkal: Students express grievances during Special Gram Sabha at Belman

Karkal, 07 Feb 2015: Supply drinking water to mid-day meals at the schools…mark zebra on the newly-widened road..! the law enforcement agencies to take action on curbing excess speed of motorists and also blowing horns..! to stop the restaurant owners to dump solid waste besides the road…! Place garbage bins besides the road…! To plant saplings in the coming monsoon, as several trees were cleared for road widening..! Asphalt the dirt roads to save us from flying dust…! Help the school authorities to build compound wall and to install surveillance cameras at the school, donate wash basin to install in school lavatory, shift the electric poles from school campus, help to repair borewell in the school, give chance for boy students to learn Karate in schools, these are the several pleas made by the students with the local village council, which was held at Belman gram panchayat auditorium. The peoples’ representatives indeed were taken aback by the pleas of future voters of India.
Over 200 students of St Joseph’s Primary and High School, Government PU College, Belman, Hosmar, Nandalike, Padubettu, Punarukere, Sooda Government Primary, High School and Aided, Nandalike – Mahalingeshwar temple raised their issues during special gram sabha on Children’s Rights.
Laxmi Acharya, Jenita Andrade, Anmol, Shashwa, Anil Kumar Nandalike, Vrushik Padubettu, Pratiksha, Prakhyat, Darshan Sooda, Melita Hosmar, Navya Nandalike, Darshan Belman and others expressed their pleas on the occasion.
Belman gram panchayat development officer Shankar recorded the pleas of students and assured them to resolve in stages.
