Moodbidri: Its our duty to conserve environment - Dr Geeta Singh

Moodbidri, 06 Feb 2015: Health is wealth. In order to live healthy lives, we ought not to burn the plastic in our household. If not, it’s indeed a health hazard not only for humans, but to wild animals and birds, said Mysore-based Lab Land managing director Dr Geeta Singh.
Dr Geeta was speaking after inaugurating two-day national seminar on environment that was organized by Alvas PG Centre for biotechnology in association with Karnataka state Pollution Board here on Friday February 6.
Karnataka state Pollution Board – Mangaluru division deputy environment officer Dr H Laxmikant was the resource person said, ‘Dumping garbage into the sea pollutes the ocean that will have devastating effect on environment. We got to take this seriously and focus on sensible disposal of waste,’ said Dr Laxmikant.
Alvas College principal Dr Kurian delivered the introductory address. The PG department of biotechnology chief Dr Ram Bhat welcomed the gathering. The lecturer Srinidhi compered the programme.
The teachers of different colleges and students attended the seminar.
The interactive session related to biotechnology was held on the occasion.
