Puttur: Valedictory function of National Road Safety Week at SPC

Puttur, 21 Jan 2015: Suraksha Consumer Forum of St Philomena College here and taluk Regional Transport Office (RTO) jointly organized valedictory function of National Road Safety Week at Prerana Seminar Hall of St Philomena College here on Monday January 19.
The resource person of this programme Regional Transport Officer (RTO) S B Surendrappa, speaking on the occasion, said, ‘Traffic rules and regulations are devised to ensure the smooth flowing of motor vehicles on the road. The thorough knowledge of traffic rules/regulations, traffic signs and markings are very essential for the drivers and road users. The proper knowledge of these rules can reduce the number of accident and thus can establish a healthy and organized traffic system in our country.’
Professor Leo Noronha, principal of the College said, ‘Traffic rules and regulations are not only for the driver of the vehicle, but also meant for the pedestrians, cyclists, motor-cyclists and other road users.’
Professor Ganesh Bhat, student welfare officer of the College and Janardhan, office superintendent, RTO were present on this occasion.
Chinmai and group rendered the prayers. Professor Dinakaran Rao, director of Suraksha Consumer Forum welcomed the gathering. Elita Monteiro proposed the vote of thanks. Vinutha compered the programme.
