Bantwal, Dec 30, 2014: Tulu has been vital language that has thrived beyond caste and religions in Tulunadu. It has united Hindu-Musalman-Christian, said ZP member M S Mohammed.
Mohammed was speaking after inaugurating ‘Rangada Rangu’ 3-day workshop on Tulu theater that was organized by Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy at Government High School, Manchi – Kolnad, near here from Monday December 29.
‘Once we are out of the house, we converse in Tulu, while the new generation has the responsibility to sustain Tulu and its distinct culture,’ said Mohammed. He also lauded the Academy for organizing the Tulu theater workshop for the students.
Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy member theater artiste Mohan Koppala Kadri in his presidential address said that the Academy has been promoting Tulu and its distinct culture by organizing the workshop on theater for students, because they are the ones who can take Tulu to greater heights, said Mohan.
The School headmaster V Sriramamurti, resource person/theater director Krishnappa Bambila, workshop director/artiste Taranat Kairangala was the chief guest of the occasion.
The teacher Bhavana rendered the prayers. The teacher Jagannat Purusha welcomed the gathering. Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy member Raghu Idnidu compered the programme. The teacher Geeta proposed vote of thanks.
