Mangaluru: People may be misled if PM Modi fails to speak on conversions - Deve Gowda

Mangaluru, 27 Dec 2014:  JD(S) supremo former PM H D Deve Gowda here on Friday December 26, said that the branches of erstwhile Janata Parivar, which were divided in the past, will be merged under one symbol may be by February 2015.
 
Addressing media persons on Friday during his brief visit to the city en route to Bengaluru from Bhatkal, Deve Gowda said, ‘PM Narendra Modi should speak about the conversion issue. If he allows others to speak, it would mislead the people. Whether the conversions are forced or voluntary, the PM needs to speak on it.

 

 

‘Only if PM Modi treats all religions equally will the government be good. If the PM does not speak on the issue, it will give a wrong message to the people. It is a problem created by them, and they should come out of it,’ said Deve Gowda.

 

On this occasion, Gowda also made it clear that he has no plans to contest the next Parliamentary election.
