Udupi, 26 Dec 2014: The Christmas Mass was celebrated with utmost religious fervor at St John the Evangelist Church, Pangala, here on Wednesday December 24 at 7.00pm.
The celebration began with the carols singing at 6:30pm. Thereafter, the festal Holy Mass was celebrated by the Udupi diocesan vicar general Monsignor Baptist Menezes along with Pangala parish priest Fr Leslie D’Souza, Fr Vincent Coelho and Fr Lawrence Mendonca.
Monsignor Baptist Menezes in his homily highlighted three points to ponder upon. He said that Christmas means, ‘Sharing,’ ‘Thanking,’ and ‘Appreciating.’
After the Holy Mass, a Christmas cake was cut to share the joys of Christmas.
Fr Leslie thanked everyone for the support and co-operation rendered by the parishioners. Three children of the parish were awarded prizes for winning diocesan level Elocution competition.
ICYM unit of Pangala parish organized games and Christmas cake draw. The entire atmosphere was so peaceful and joyous.
