Mumbai: Billawar Association hosts Koti - Chennaya Sports Meet - 2014

Mumbai, 25 Dec 2014: The sports meet that is being hosted in the name of Koti – Chennaya, the heroic icons of Tulunadu, exhibits the unity of Billawa community that has jest for sports. Bharat Co-operative Bank (Mumbai) Limited that is led by veteran of co-operative movement Jaya Suvarna has been nationally acclaimed. Billawa community is peace loving and harmonious in the society. There should not be any controversies in sports that should be focused to foster friendship, said MP B K Hariprasad.
MP Hariprasad was speaking after inaugurating Koti - Chennaya Sports Meet that was organized by Billawar Association Mumbai® at sports training center grounds of Sports Authority of India, Samata Nagar, Kandivali (East) here on Thursday December 25.
The Association honorary president Jaya C Suvarna inaugurated Koti – Chennai Sports Meet – 2014 that was organized by youth wing of Billawar Association, by releasing colorful balloons bearing the logo of sports meet.
The Association president Nityanand D Kotian presided the programme.
Olympian athlete Sahana Kumari was the guest of honor hoisted the sports flag.
The Association past president L V Amin, Gujarat entrepreneur Mohan C Poojary, Narayan Poojary Hejmady, movie director/producer Rajashekar Kotian was present at the dais.
Speaking on the occasion, Sahana Kumari expressed happiness over the sports meet and said, ‘Sports meet should be focused on display of inherent talent, rather than mere competition. One should aspire to win in competitions. Billawa community women have made their presence by partaking in sports. The sports enable one to lead quality life. Billawa community that has Koti – Chennaya as heroic icons had to partake in sports meets in large numbers in order to make your presence in global arena,’ said Sahana Kumari.
Nityanand Kotian urged the community to set an example as disciplined people in the society. The ideals of Brahmashree Narayana Guru, adventure spirit of Koti – Chennaya, the sacrificial life of Kantabare – Boodabare, will inspire one to strengthen community bond.
The Association vice presidents Chandrashekar S Poojary, Jyoti K Suvarna, Bhaskar M Salian, honorary chief treasurer Bhaskar V Bangera, joint secretaries Shankar D Poojary and Mahesh C Poojary, joint treasurers L R Anchan and Dharmapal G Anchan, women wing president Shakuntala K Kotian, Seva Dal chief Ganesh K Poojary, Bharat Bank directors Gangadhar J Poojary, Suryakant J Suvarna, CEO C R Mulky, and others were present.
Premanat P Kotian welcomed the gathering. The Association honorary chief secretary Dr U Dhananjay Kumar, joint secretaries Dhananjay S Kotian and Harish G Salian introduced the dignitaries.
