Udupi: All Religious Christmas Get-together echoes need for solidarity of people in society

Udupi, 25 Dec 2014: The Catholic Sabha unit of St John the Evangelist parish, Pangala – Shankerapura, near here and all religious harmony Committee, jointly organized Christmas get-together at parish auditorium, here on Tuesday December 22 evening.
Udupi bishop Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, Kundapur-based advocate and journalist A S N Hebbar, Banglore-based Karnataka Shamiyana Okkoota trustee Akbar Ali, Pangala – Shankerapura parish priest Fr Leslie D’Souza were present at the dais.
The dignitaries called for oneness and solidarity among the people of different faith in the society.
ICYM unit of Pangala – Shankerapura presented a tableau depicting the Biblical Christmas story. The tableau covered the route from Katpady to Manchakal, Shirva, to convey the Christmas message of peace and brotherhood.
The Christmas carols, dances and variety cultural shows were staged by the parish children on the occasion. The whole programme was filled with the joy of Christmas.
Around 600 people along with the parishioners gathered to celebrate the Birth of Jesus with a fraternal spirit. Everyone was elated by the Christmas celebration. The event was a great success with the help and co-operation rendered by the members of all religious harmony Committee and parishioners.
