The celebration of the Birth of Jesus Christ becomes more meaningful when everyone comes together to be a part of the celebration.
The bishop informed that the Mangaluru diocese has built 24 houses at Mariashram, Talapady, here which were donated as Christmas gift to the very poor and needy families of the diocese.
The bishop further said, ‘The diocese has decided to provide Christmas meals to 200 people of various Ashrams on December 28 at the Bishop’s House.’
He also said that the beautiful Mangaluru which was once known for its peace and unity is now turning into a place of violence, unrest, communal disharmony and constant fights.
Mangalore diocesan PRO Fr William Menezes welcomed the gathering. Raymond D’Cunha compered the ceremony.
The diocesan pastoral council general secretary M P Noronha and others were present.
