VHP-BD to convene state-wide stir demanding resignation of CM
Mangaluru, 20 Dec 2014: Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal will convene state-wide protests demanding resignation of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah as he continues to follow anti-hindu policies. In a bid to appease the minorities, Siddaramaiah is neglecting the Hindus, alleged Regional Working President Professor M B Puranik.
Addressing the press persons on Saturday, December 20, Puranik said that by withdrawing Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Bill 2010 and Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Preservation (Amendment) Bill 2012, the Chief Minister has showed that he only favours the minorities. He is running the administration according to his whims and fancies.”
Eventhough the Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Cattle Preservation Act 1964 has been restored, the same has not been communicated to the people. Infact the government is misleading the people by stating that there is no act against cow slaughter, alleged Puranik.
The government should also increase the jail term and fine levied on illegal cattle traffickers, he added.
VHP condemns Karnataka Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Amendment Bill-2014 as the amendment will be a violation against Art 26 of the Constitution of India which accords freedom to religious officers. Cases registered against the maths or temples should be taken up by courts or Hindu Parishads and not government, Puranik pointed out.
Krishnamurthy, Sharan Pumpwell and Kateel Dinesh Pai of VHP were present.
