Dhaka: CHD signs MoU with Public Health Foundation of Bangladesh

Dhaka, Dec 11, 2014: Center for Health and Development (CHD-India) partnered with the Public Health Foundation of Bangladesh to advance conversations in health. The memorandum of Understanding was signed here on Monday December 8.

 

Dr Edmond Fernandes, CEO, Center for Health and Development signed the MoU here with Dr Sharmeen Yasmeen, CEO, Public Health Foundation of Bangladesh.

 

Members of Public Health Foundation, Including Dr Muzaherul Huq, Chair, Public Health Foundation of Bangladesh and former adviser of World Health Organization were present.

 

 

The MoU puts in place an ideal partnership to strengthen frameworks to enhance public health education, field skills, training and execution.

 

India and Bangladesh have been striving to improve their health indicators since a long time; this MoU is a set in this direction.

 

Dr Edmond Fernandes, thanked the Bangladesh High Commission in India for their support in this noble gesture.

 

CHD-India and Public Health Foundation of Bangladesh have between them a set of highly qualified and complimentary professional staff, research and training skills and institutional facilities that are uniquely suited to produce extraordinary graduates able to tackle public health problems, manage health programs, carry out bio-medical research, provide leadership to health systems, design and conduct comprehensive research and contribute to the teaching of public health and clinical sciences. The synergy of joint efforts greatly adds to the richness of the resource-base of both CHD-India and Public Health Foundation of Bangladesh to help establish a world-class institution of higher education and learning in both the countries.

 

Besides, the formal signing in and introductory note of the organization, Dr Edmond Fernandes also addressed the students at Dhaka University and Shaheed Suhrwardi Medical College on Disaster Risk Reduction: Certainty in an Uncertain world.
