Alleged medical negligence claims life of 15-yr-old boy
Belthangady, 11 Dec 2014: A 15-year-old boy died due to alleged medical negligence in a private hospital at Badyaru on Thursday, December 11.
The deceased is Kiran, son of Srinivas and a resident of Somanthadka. Kiran, a ninth standard student was admitted to a private hospital on December 6 for appendix treatment. On December 8, the doctor had injected a dose for fever, which allegedly worsened his condition.
The worried father later shifted him to a private hospital in Mangaluru where he breathed his last on Thursday morning.
His father alleged that Kiran died of the wrong injection administered by the doctor in the hospital at the first hospital. It is said that six months ago Kiran’s mother too died in the same hospital at Badyaru after she was treated with the wrong medication.
Kiran’s uncle who filed a case against the hospital in Belthangady station claimed that the family lost two members owing to the wrong medication. The locals who were present at the spot demanded strict action against the doctors and the hospital.
