Abu Dhabi: Shk. Al Nahyan Inaugurates INDIA-FEST-2014 at ISC which marks cultural extravaganza

Abu Dhabi, 05 Dec 2014: HH Shaikh Al Nahyan UAE Minister of Culture & Youth and Community Development Inaugurated the India-Festival 2014 (Season 5) at India Social and Cultural Centre attended by large number of VVIPs and dignitaries including HE TP Sitharam (Ambassador of India to UAE). This is the 5th festival organized by ISC which is attended by large number of Indian Expatriates every year. The festival includes loads of cultural extravaganza performed by artists flown from India.

 

The inaugural took place at 7:30pm on 4th December 2014 at the outdoor huge stage put up on the occasion of the ISC Building. The ISC members welcomed the guests and the audience with a beautiful SWAGATAM welcome song followed by HH Shaikh Al Nahyan inaugurated the INDIA-FEST 2014 by cutting the ribbon accompanied by HE Ambassador TP Sitharam and Mr. Yusuff Ali M.A, Managing Director EMKE LuLu Group of companies and Chairman Board of Governors (ISC).

 

Vinod (Hon. Gen Secretary) welcomed the gathering and requested Mr. Natarajan (Hon President ISC) to address and welcome the guests and audience. Mr. Natarajan thanked high HH Shaikh Al Nahyan for his graceful presence at the INDIA-FEST 2014 and accorded a grand welcome to him on behalf of Indian Community.  He also welcomed the main dignitaries present on the occasion namely: Mr. Yousuff Ali (Chairman, Board of Governors ISC), Mr. Murli (Patron, ISC and MD SFC Group). Also present on the occasion was Mr. Sudhir Kumar Shetty (COO Global, UAE EXCHANGE CENTRE) who is the title sponsor of the event. Mr. Natarajan felicitated the main sponsor of the event Mr. Khoori Managing Director DODSAL.

 

 

The inauguration was followed by cultural shows starting with Sufi Dance Choreographed beautifully by Master Kundan. Dance which was a Bollywood fusion by Pooja Nair, Priyanka Kutty, Ramya Ravikumar mesmerized the audience. The main attraction of the India-Fest was the Magic Show by a famous Indian magician Prof. Gopinath Muthukad who entertained the audience in between the cultural events.

 

The show went on until midnight that included Chende Beats by Dal group from Dubai who mesmerized the audience with their wonder display of chende beats and sounds. Other attractions were Fire Display, street magic and dances by various groups kept the audience enthralled throughout the event.

 

Another attraction of the day was palm shadow display by an eminent artist from Bangalore Mr. Prahlad Acharya who displayed the freedom fighter using only his palm and fingers followed by a story Punnyakoti which the audience applauded for his magical skills and received a thunderous applauds.

 

In the tents set up outside of the main stage, had variety of food outlets from South Indian and North Indian dishes which the audience souvered and enjoyed variety of dishes. There were also loads of textile, jewelry and other business shops displayed their items and had brisk business from the visitors to their stalls.

 

The fest will continue today Friday the 5th and concluding ceremony will be on 6th evening with loads of entertainment promised by the ISC Organizers. A nice festival to pay a visit and an event to enjoy the cultural programs as well as taste good food and have fun and frolic for young and old.
