Bantwal: Marauding truck plunges into gorge on NH 75; 2 critically injured

Bantwal, Dec 02, 2014: A truck transporting salvaged parts of a gutted bus near Uppinangady, here a few days ago plunged into 10-feet deep gorge besides Mangalore – Bangalore NH 75 at Budoli, near Mani, here on Monday December 1. The truck driver and its cleaner were critically injured and are admitted in a hospital at Mangaluru.
Background of the case:
Two persons were injured when a passenger bus gutted in an accidental fire on NH 75. Meanwhile, a truck transporting the salvaged parts of gutted bus to Mangalore plunged into the gorge on right side of highway, whilst the truck driver recklessly tried to overtake a state-run bus at Budoli, near Mani, here on Monday December 1 night after hitting the rear of bus.
The truck driver forty-year-old Dharmanna Naik, son of Babu Naik, residing at Budoli, here was critically injured along with cleaner. Vittal police registered a case in this regard.
