Bantwal: Academies ought to recognize extraordinary litterateurs - minister Rai

Bantwal, 23 Nov 2014: The state government instituted language Academies not for decorating president’s post, instead to recognize the extraordinary litterateurs for their significant contributions, said the state forests and DK district-in-charge minister B Ramanat Rai.
The minister Rai was speaking after inaugurating Beary Literary – Cultural Convention organized by Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy in association with Muslim Welfare Association – Bantwal, at SDM Kalyana Mantap, here on Sunday November 23.
The state government has been allocating financial assistance towards the development of literature, while the Academy presidents got to organize worthy programmes in the interest of society, advised minister Rai.
Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy president B A Mohammed Hanif presided the programme.
The town councilor Vasanti Chandappa, deputy councilor Yasmeen Hamad and ZP member Chandraprakash Shetty Thumbay were the chief guests of the occasion.
Touheed English Medium School correspondent Haji B A Mohammed Ali, taluk Beary Sahitya Academy president B M Abbas Ali, former president P A Rahim, Haji Mohammed Sadiq, Munish Ali Bantwal, Riyaz Hussein Bantwal, Muslim Welfare Association president Ifazatulla, B A Suleiman Bantwal, B A Latif Bantwal, Mohammed and others were present.
The Academy registrar Umarabba welcomed the gathering. Abbas Kiragunda delivered the introductory address. Ashraf Apollo Kalladka, Samad Gadiyara and Ziad Kalladka presented Beary song. Academy member Hamid Padubidri proposed vote of thanks. Abdul Hamid and journalist Latif Neralakatte compered the programme.
The minister Rai felicitated the national award recipient teacher Ramesh Nayak, veteran litterateur Haji G Abdul Khader Goltamajalu, teacher Abdul Razak Anantady, Mangalore University doctorate recipient brothers Ismail and Samsuddin on the same occasion.
The multi-lingual poets’ session was held moderated by poet Mohammed Baddur.
