Mangaluru: Ready-mix concrete dumper hits Mahaveer Roundabout; No casualties

Mangaluru, 21 Nov 2014: A ready-mix-concrete dumper hit Mahaveer Roundabout, at Pumpwell, here on Friday November 21 early morning.
The dumper was owned by Navayug Constructions who are executing the four-lane works on Mangalore – Ernakulam National Highway at a stretch up till Talapady bordering Kerala, hit Mahaveer Roundabout owing to technical failure.
It would have been a disaster if the dumper had hit anyone of the buildings or the vehicles as it was carrying about 5.5 tons of ready-mix concrete.
The impact of the collision was such that the front wheels of the dumper got jammed, while there was damage to the diesel tank which lead to the leakage of the diesel all over the road.
According to the traffic police no case has been registered in this regard and no casualties have been reported. The Navayug officials have been informed and the police are awaiting their arrival.
